Why plans are priced in euros

A significant part of hosting costs is tied to foreign currency: server hardware and data-centre rent, network capacity, licences, infrastructure protection, spare capacity and other technical services.

At the same time most customers pay in roubles. Before the money can be used to pay for infrastructure, a payment goes through several stages:

• processing of the rouble payment;
• the payment provider fee;
• conversion into the settlement currency;
• the possible gap between the official and the actual exchange rate.

That is why the official currency rate does not always match the real cost of processing and converting a payment.

Why exactly 95.77 ₽

With a moving currency market and the specifics of processing payments in Russia, the actual cost of conversion can change even within a single day.

We considered changing the rate daily, but that would make the final price less predictable. So we decided to set one fixed settlement rate:

This rate is a compromise. It partially offsets the cost of accepting and converting payments without passing it on to customers in full. Part of those costs is still covered by us.

How this keeps the hosting stable

Stable service means paying on time for server capacity, network connectivity, licences, protection and backup infrastructure. A correct settlement rate lets us:

• maintain servers and network infrastructure without cutting quality;
• keep spare capacity for load spikes;
• pay for hardware, facilities and technical services on time;
• keep improving protection and fault tolerance;
• avoid abrupt changes to the plan prices themselves;
• keep the level of stability and support our customers are used to.

Our goal is not to make extra profit on conversion, but to keep the service running sustainably when it is paid for in different currencies.

Have plan prices changed

No. The base price of the plans in euros stays the same.

Only the rouble amount changes when you top up the balance or pay for an order. For example:

Why not the official CBR rate

The official CBR rate is a reference figure. It does not reflect the actual terms on which payment providers accept roubles, take their fee and perform the subsequent conversion.

That is why the settlement rate at payment time can differ from the official euro rate.

Will the rate change every day

No. We deliberately fixed the rate at 95.77 ₽ so that customers can know the renewal cost in advance and plan their spending.

We do not plan to revise it because of small daily fluctuations. A change is possible only if the payment conditions or the currency market shift significantly and for a sustained period.

If the rate is revised, we will do our best to notify customers in advance via the website and our official channels.

Summary

The fixed rate of 95.77 ₽ per €1 keeps the balance between affordable pricing for customers and the real cost of running the infrastructure.

We understand that any change to payment terms raises questions. That is exactly why we chose not the full settlement rate with all costs included, but a softer compromise in which part of the costs is still covered by the company.
